Booking Terms and Conditions
1. Brochure & Accuracy
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure that the brochure (provided in your gîte during your stay) and all advertising material provided in your gîte is accurate at the time of publication we cannot be held responsible for changes or matters outside our control. All information is given in good faith but no warranties are made regarding information provided, either written or oral.
2. Booking Payments & Fees
Bookings can be made by email or post & confirmed within 7 days by the Property Owner. Booking must be made by completing the Rental Agreement Form supplied. Details of how to pay will be provided at time of booking.
Deposit: At the time of booking a deposit of 20% of the rental price must be paid. This deposit confirms the booking and is non-refundable. Once the deposit is received you will receive Confirmation of Booking. Until such time that a deposit is received the booking is only provisional.
Balance: The Balance Payment is due 8 calendar weeks before the arrival date. If the booking is made less than 8 weeks of the arrival date, then the full rental amount is payable immediately. On receipt of the Balance Payment, the Guest will receive details of key collection and detailed directions. Nonpayment of the balance on or after the due date may be construed as a cancellation by the Guest.
Security Deposit: A security deposit of €250 (€400 if dogs are accompanying guests) is to be paid along with the balance of payment of your rental amount a week before arrival. This deposit is required in case it is needed to cover the cost of any damage or breakages to or at the property. Or any dirt/mess requiring excessive cleaning (including the barbecue) and any damaged/broken/missing items. This also includes any other cost incurred by the Property Owner due to a Guest's stay. The property will be inspected after departure and the Guest will be notified of any damage, breakages or missing items found other than those that may have been already reported by the guest. The security deposit will normally be returned within 7 days after the rental departure. It is strongly recommended that you hold travel insurance, for each member of your party, which covering accidental damage, loss, expenses etc. The Property Owner reserves the right to withhold the security deposit for longer than 7 days if there is a dispute over damage or is awaiting bills/proof of damage. If the cost of damage is more than the security deposit the additional amount must be paid by you to the Property Owner.
Taxe de Sejour: A Tourist Tax, based on the number of adults/total nights of stay is levied by the local tourist office. The amount of Tourist Tax for your stay will be calculated and then included as an additional charge as part of the total cost of your stay. Further details of this tax can be found in the brochure supplied in the gîte.
3. Prices
Prices are inclusive of electricity (an excess of 50 units per week will be chargeable), gas, water and the provision of bed linen and towels, including pool towels. The first basket of wood (for the woodburner) is included in the rental price. Further baskets of logs are available for an additional cost which is outlined in the brochure provided in each gîte.
4. Occupancy
The gîtes are only for the use of the agreed and stated number of guests. For insurance purposes we are unable to exceed this number.
5. Dogs
With the agreement of the Property Owner well behaved dogs are welcome. Dog owners must clean up after their dogs and they are not allowed on furniture or beds within the gîtes. Dogs are also not allowed in the pool area (unless assistance dogs) and we request that they are closely supervised around other guests and other animals on site.
6. Cancellation
It is recommended that you take out insurance to protect against the risk of cancellation from the time of booking and for medical, baggage cover etc. whilst abroad. Guests must accept responsibility for any loss that they may incur due to cancelling their holiday. The Property Owner will provide any documentation needed by the Guest’s insurers should it be necessary to cancel. Cancellations must be made in writing and the charges are as follows:
The 20% deposit is in all cases non-refundable.
6 calendar weeks before check-in - 50% refund of the total cost.
4 calendar weeks before check-in - 25% refund of the total cost.
Less than 4 calendar weeks before check-in - 0% refund of the total cost.
Should a gîte be unavailable on the stated dates, due to unforeseen circumstances, every attempt will be made to relocate guests. If this is not possible, all rent monies will be refunded without question but no further liability will fall upon the Property Owner.
7. Your Responsibilities
Your property will be cleaned before your arrival and we respectfully ask you to remember that you are staying in someone else's home. Breakages should be reported to the Property Owner in order that it can be rectified before the following clients arrive. Please do not arrive at the property before 16:00 hrs and kindly leave by 10:00 hrs on the day of departure (otherwise you could be charged extra rental) in order to give enough time between guests to ensure that the property is ready. If you expect to arrive after 19:00 hrs please contact the Property Owner.
8. Complaints
In the event of any complaint arising, either on arrival or after occupation has commenced, this should be brought to the attention of the Property Owner immediately so that remedial action, where necessary, can be taken without delay. They will do everything possible to deal with any difficulties both quickly and effectively. The Property Owner retains the right to enter the property at any reasonable time to deal with any complaints and to carry out any repairs deemed necessary to the property or equipment. Any complaint after departure must be in writing within 14 days of your departure date.
9. Swimming Pool - Open June to September - 12m x 6m x 1.5m
Pool towels are supplied. No swimming between 20:00 hrs and 09:00 hrs. No diving as the pool is only 1.5m deep. No drinking glasses or glass bottles to be used around the pool. Please respect other guests by not smoking in the area around the pool. Children must be under parent's/guardian's supervision at all times as the Property Owner cannot be responsible for their safety as there is no lifeguard on duty. Please ensure that swimmers shower prior to entering the pool to remove sun tan creams/lotions which will adversely affect the pool filtering system.
10. General
Whilst every possible effort will be made to maintain the pool and household equipment in good order for the enjoyment of our guests we cannot accept liability in the event of any unforeseen calamity but would ask you to bear with us whilst we attempt to rectify the problem as soon as possible. Inside the gîtes is strictly non-smoking (including vaping) as well as the area around the swimming pool, please comply.
11. Car Parking
Car parking is available on site but it is at owner’s risk. Currently we do not have any electric charging points on our gîtes and the electric sockets in the gîtes are not to be used for this purpose. There are electric charging units in Civray in the car park behind the Hôtel du Commerce.

If you require extra equipment such as a cot or high chair please let us know at the time of booking.
